Unaka Bottling Works of Johnson City

The 1911 Johnson City directory has Unaka Bottling Works located at 114 East Market street.(1) When you check the Sanborn maps; however, you find that 114 is actually a hardware store. You look at the next available map which is 1913 you find that 114 is still a hardware store; however, there is indeed a bottling company at 116 East Main that was an empty lot in 1908. So one would assume that during the period not covered which unfortunately includes 1911, someone built a bottling works at 116 East Market street, and either bought out another company or was bought out themselves. by 1913 the city directories place Johnson City Bottling Works at that location with a new manager and president(1), so either Unaka bought out Johnson City Bottling Works and took the name or Johnson City Bottling Works' new owners bought Unaka out and gained a brand new ready made bottling plant.

This is 116 West Market Street which I think is the actual location for this bottling company
